The state of Pennsylvania’s gambling income achieved an all-time high of $462.7 million in March, fueled by record-breaking online gambling and physical table game earnings.

Pennsylvania’s gambling income reached a peak of $462.7 million in March, showing a 14.7% increase from $403.1 million in March of the previous year and a 23.2% rise compared to the $375.7 million recorded in February.

Nearly all market segments exhibited year-on-year growth, but the online gambling sector displayed particularly strong performance, with revenue expanding by 20.9% to a record $118.1 million, according to data released by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB).

Online slot machine revenue amounted to $79.2 million for the month, online table game revenue reached $35.7 million, and internet poker revenue totaled $3.2 million.

Pennsylvania’s Penn National Gaming led the online gambling sector with $45.1 million in revenue, surpassing Philadelphia’s Rivers Casino with $30.2 million and the Valley Forge Casino Resort with $23.9 million.

Shifting focus to sports betting, revenue climbed by 3.6% to $30.4 million for the month. This follows Pennsylvania’s first monthly sports betting loss in February, amounting to $442,847.

Online sports betting revenue reached $25.4 million, while physical revenue amounted to $5 million, with the state’s March handle increasing by 27.6% year-on-year to $715 million.

Foxwoods and FanDuel, working together, continue to be the leading sports betting company in Pennsylvania, bringing in $15.4 million in profits during March. Barstool Sportsbook, located at the Meadows’ Hollywood Casino, came in second with $4.4 million in profits, followed by Rivers Casino and BetRivers in Pittsburgh, with $1.9 million in profits.

Information from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) shows that total gambling profits in Pennsylvania in March reached $261 million, a 7.4% increase from the same time last year.

Looking at casinos on land, slot machines were once again the state’s biggest source of income, generating $214.7 million in March, a 7.7% increase from the year before. However, table games saw the largest percentage increase, with profits rising 32.1% to a record $94.3 million.

The PGCB also shared that video lottery terminal profits rose by 5.2% to $3.8 million, but fantasy sports profits dropped by 22.7% to $1.4 million, the only market area that didn’t see growth in March.
