Rumors of Second Casino in Forest City Debunked by Malaysian Officials and Companies

Di Jayden "Jigsaw" Graves

News sources in Malaysia were recently alive with whispers of a potential second gambling establishment slated for the Forest City development in Johor. Speculation was rampant, suggesting that both the Success Group and Resorts World Malaysia were engaged in preliminary discussions. However, both entities have issued strong denials, vehemently refuting any involvement in such a project.

Further quelling the speculation, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim personally labeled the rumors as “unsubstantiated,” affirming that no such dialogues were underway. Resorts World Malaysia released a definitive statement, clarifying that neither the company nor its CEO, Lim Kok Thay, have taken part in any meetings or conversations concerning an additional casino at Forest City, deeming the reports “groundless.”

Taking more decisive action, Success Group lodged a police report and disseminated a forceful statement via The Star publication, countering the claims and reiterating their lack of involvement in any discussions regarding a second casino in Forest City. They characterized the rumors as “false allegations” and are demonstrably taking measures to safeguard their standing.
