The Centennial State witnessed a tremendous 103% spike in sports wagering income this past March versus the month prior, as per the most recent state report. This remarkable leap was driven by the thrill of March Madness, the NCAA basketball championship, which experienced a massive 38% rise in betting activity compared to February.
Hoops dominated, attracting the majority of wagers at 58%, reaching a substantial $2.87 billion. Digital betting remained king, generating nearly all of the $45.9 million in earnings. Concurrently, Black Hawk gambling venues led the way for in-person wagers, securing a significant $15.4 million.
The Colorado Gaming Control Commission recently founded a specific reserve to encourage safe gaming practices.
