A leading developer of slot machines, table games, and other gaming solutions, AGS (formerly known as Cadillac Jack), has named Robert “Bob” Blair as their new Associate General Counsel. Blair comes to AGS from Aruze Gaming, where his most recent position was Global General Counsel. During his tenure at Aruze, he also held the titles of Global Deputy General Counsel and Global Chief IP Counsel.

Aruze Gaming has undergone a period of transformation, divesting several divisions. One example is the sale of their electronic table game assets to Interblock, and they are on the verge of completing the sale of their slot machine operations to Play Synergy.

Before joining Aruze Gaming, Blair’s career included roles such as a US Patent Attorney for EIP and Vice President of Patents at Unwired Planet.

Bringing over 20 years of industry experience to his new role, Blair offers AGS a deep well of knowledge, particularly in areas such as financial planning, intellectual property agreements and disputes, and patent portfolio expansion.

Rob Ziems, AGS’s Chief Legal Officer and Secretary, shared his enthusiasm for Blair’s appointment, remarking, “Bob possesses an exceptional legal intellect and is a tremendous asset to our executive team. His vast understanding and background in corporate and patent law will be crucial in safeguarding and propelling our company and brands forward as we continue to leverage the numerous growth prospects that await us.”

In his capacity as Assistant Legal Counsel, Blair is responsible for a variety of legal issues. This encompasses collaborating with the leadership team to ensure the organization adheres to all regulations pertaining to areas such as conformity and oversight.

AGS is highly committed to expanding its global footprint at present. Their recent quarterly earnings report emphasized their product sales across 29 states within the US, four provinces in Canada, and even a single international market beyond North America. This expansion is driven by their focus on customer acquisition, particularly targeting larger enterprises.

The corporation intends to sustain the growth of its international gaming machine deployments throughout the remainder of 2023 by employing a strategic approach that leverages its worldwide assets effectively.
